If ... the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers ... thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him....—Deuteronomy 13:6-8

He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.—Matthew 10:37-38

Do you love your wife sacrificially?

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it.—Ephesians 5:25

Do you care for your wife as you do your own body?

So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church.—Ephesians 5:28-29

Other than Yeshua, is she more important to you than anyone or anything else?

Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.—Hebrews 13:4

Do you respond to your wife’s sexual needs?

Let the husband fulfill his duty to his wife, and likewise also the wife to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does; and likewise also the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. Are you still allowing yourself to be aroused by your wife’s physical features?

Let your fountain be blessed, and rejoice in the wife of your youth. As a loving hind and a graceful doe, let her breasts satisfy you at all times; be exhilarated always with her love.—Proverbs 5:18-19, NASB

Are you the leader in your home, spiritually, as well as physically?

For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church....—Ephesians 5:23

Is your behavior and lifestyle drawing your wife closer to Yeshua? Are you helping her become more spiritual?

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, that he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.—Ephesians 5:25:27

…let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds.—Hebrews 10:24

Do you teach and encourage your wife daily?

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another....—Colossians 3:16

Do you bear your wife burdens?

Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.—Galatians 6:2

Do you pray for your wife?

And Isaac intreated YHWH for his wife....—Genesis 25:21

Do you provide financially for your wife and for your family?

Are you kind?

Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.—Colossians 3:19

Are you vindictive?

Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith YHWH.—Romans 12:19

Love is … not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered.—1 Corinthians 13:4-5, NASB

[Yeshua] Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not.... Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel ... that your prayers be not hindered.—1 Peter 2:23-3:7

Are you forgiving?

For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.—Matthew 6:14-15

…For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you.—Matthew 7:2, NASB

Do you confess your faults to your wife?

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.—James 5:16

Do you spend recreational time with your wife?

Enjoy life with the woman whom you love all the days of your fleeting life which He has given to you under the sun; for this is your reward in life, and in your toil in which you have labored under the sun.—Ecclesiastes 9:9, NASB

Are you patient?

Love is patient….—1 Corinthians 13:4, NASB

Are you jealous of your wife?

Love is … not jealous….—1 Corinthians 13:4, NASB

Are you rude or offensive?

Love … does not act unbecomingly….—1 Corinthians 13:4-5, NASB

Are you unselfish?

Love … does not seek its own.—1 Corinthians 13:4-5 (NASB)

Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind let each of you regard one another as more important than himself; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus.—Philippians 2:3-5 (NASB)
