Scriptures Related to Salvation

Question 1

Option #1: Salvation is obtained by doctrines of man.
Option #2: Salvation is obtained exclusively by means of the teachings found in the Bible.

What the Bible Says:
And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. (2 Thessalonians 2:10-12)

Question 2

Option #1: Asking Jesus into your heart is man’s doctrine.
Option #2: Asking Jesus into your heart is biblical.

What the Bible Says:
There are no scriptures that teach the doctrine of asking Jesus into your heart.

Question 3

Option #1: The Bible records people praying “the sinner’s prayer” in order to be saved.
Option #2: Praying the “sinner’s prayer” is man’s replacement for the biblical plan of salvation.

What the Bible Says:
There are no examples in the Bible of anyone praying “the sinner’s prayer.”

Question 4

Option #1: The Bible teaches that baptism has nothing to do with salvation in Christ.
Option #2: The Bible teaches that baptism is integral to salvation in Christ.

What the Bible Says:
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. (Mark 16:15-16)

The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 3:21)

Question 5

Option #1: Baptism is a work of man.
Option #2: Baptism is a work of God.

What the Bible Says:
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. (Mark 16:15-16)

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. (Acts 2:38-41)

And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord. (Acts 22:16)

Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. (Romans 6:3-4)

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. (Galatians 3:26-27)

In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses. (Colossians 2:11-13)

Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 3:20-21)

Question 6

Option #1: The Bible teaches that baptism is to be performed for the forgiveness of sins.
Option #2: The Bible teaches that the forgiveness of sins can be accomplished without baptism.

What the Bible Says:

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Question 8

Option #1: Circumcision of the heart occurs when a person is baptized into Christ.
Option #2: Circumcision of the heart occurs whether or not a person is baptized.

Question 9

Option #1: The inspired authors of the New Testament taught that baptism was for salvation, the forgiveness of sins, the means of being born from above, the means of putting on Christ, the means of being added to the body of Christ, and circumcision of the heart.
Option #2: The Bible teaches that these things are accomplished by faith alone.

Question 10

Option #1: Yeshua taught that baptism is an outward sign of inward grace, a witness to others, and that it has nothing to do with salvation.
